I'm Audra, 34, wife to Dave, 37, and mom to Isaak, 9, and Maggie, 7.

Dave keeps himself busy play weekend warrior while holding down a "regular" job. He's also a loving husband and caring and engaged father. He likes cooking, reading, the History channel, and is a closet write (extremely talented). He has a beautiful voice that we don't get to hear much. He spent 2 years in Germany on a mission for our church some years ago and just spent over a year in Iraq in 2004. He likes adventure. He just bought a new Jeep.

Audra keeps herself way too busy. She has a Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education (emphasis on autism) and teaches a class for students with high-functioning autism and Asperger's at a local elementary school. She got a book published on autism and hyperlexia titled When Babies Read. She will be a BCBA by the end of the year which will mean she will be a board-certified behavior analyst. She is engaged in her church responsibilities and likes hanging out with friends (when she can!).

Isaak is 9 and is a remarkable kid. He was diagnosed with autism and hyperlexia when he was 2. He had already been reading for a few months but was not developing any age-appropriate skills (like talking and playing!). An intense home program began right away for him, and while he still has autism, he has made amazing progress. He is still too smart for his own good (can out-math most high schoolers), but he really seems to enjoy life now. He looks pretty "normal" now, although he still has his issues we're ironing out. We expect he will go to live a normal (what is that, anyway?), happy (only thing we care about) life.

Audra Jr. (some know her by "Maggie") is 7 and is full of life. She has been a great blessing to her brother. She loves and cares for him, but is also the best therapy money couldn't buy! She is her very own person, but a little too much like her mom for her own good. She has energy to spare, and likes using it on rapid talking and too many questions. She is bright and inquisitive and loves being around people and being the center of attention. She is helpful and loving and an all-around good kid.
